Kani Kusruti Joins the Team in SonyLIV's Eyes
Kani Kusruti plays police officer Tina Sebastian in Eyes, a seven-episode SonyLIV series on stalking. The review, the cast and the career behind the role.

Kani Kusruti plays a police officer in Eyes, a seven-episode Malayalam series on SonyLIV about a team that tracks dangerous stalkers. The Hindu calls it an interesting one-time watch that takes time to grow on the viewer. Here is what the review says about her part and the career behind it.
The series
Manu Asokan directs, and The Hindu's Shilpa Nair Anand lists seven episodes of about 50 minutes each. The story follows a team that works with police to identify stalkers prone to causing harm and take preventive steps. At its centre is software called Eyes, built by Vidya, played by Shruti Ramachandran.
Kusruti plays Tina Sebastian, one of the two police officers on the team. The others are Nikhila Vimal as Ayesha, Athira Patel as Tanvi and Prabhu Muralikrishnan as Justin. The review describes Tina as the righteous, law-abiding member who tells Vidya she is wrong when Vidya crosses a line. It also praises a scene in which Tina's husband Sebastian tells a man that his wife would be offended if he fought her battles.
What the review said
Anand writes that the pace is languid and that each episode feels long. She credits the cast, calls Jaffer Idukki's creepy turn as Mohanan the highlight, and says Nikhila Vimal stands out as Ayesha. She does not single out Kusruti's performance. She does praise the number of women in lead roles and says the sisterhood among them does not shy away from calling each other out.
The career behind it
Kusruti began in theatre and trained at the Thrissur School of Drama and the L'Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq, according to Wikipedia. She won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress and the Best Actress award in the BRICS section at the Moscow International Film Festival for Biriyaani.
She also appeared in All We Imagine as Light and Girls Will Be Girls, both from 2024, and in the series Poacher and Maharani, the same source says. Her recent festival work includes jury roles at Busan in 2024 and Locarno in 2025.
Why it matters
Eyes uses a crime-procedural frame to talk about stalking, and the reviewer says it avoids romanticising it.
What we could not confirm
We read The Hindu's review in full and have not seen the series. It does not assess Kusruti's performance, so we do not either. The career details come from Wikipedia and should be checked against the awards bodies for formal use.
