Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran: What Is Confirmed
Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran will marry in November. The Nov. 21 Chennai reception is on the record, and the Greece date is not confirmed.
The composer Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran, co-owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, are to marry in November. The Chennai reception date of Nov. 21 comes from the Telangana chief minister's office. The Greece ceremony on Nov. 11 is reported but not confirmed by the couple.
What is on the record
The Hindu reports that Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran, with his wife Kavery, called on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Oct. 16 to invite him to the reception. The Telangana CMO posted on X that the reception of Kavya Maran and Anirudh Ravichander is scheduled for Chennai on Nov. 21, as quoted by Mint. Mint reports that an earlier report had given Nov. 14, and that the reason for the change is undisclosed.
On Oct. 17, Sun News posted that Kalanithi Maran had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and presented reception invitations. The Hindu and NDTV both cite those posts.
What is reported but not confirmed
Mint attributes the Greece date of Nov. 11 to the entertainment portal Valai Pechu and notes that neither Anirudh nor Kavya Maran has issued a public statement. NDTV, citing sources, says the ceremony is planned for Nov. 10 and 11 and will be intimate, that it is not in Santorini, and that no printed invitations for Greece have gone out. The Times of India says the reported schedule should be treated as unconfirmed, and Mint says the guest list is expected to be star-studded.
The Hindu notes that the couple had denied relationship rumours for a couple of years, and that in June 2025 Anirudh asked people to stop spreading rumours about his marriage.
Who they are
Mint describes Kavya Maran as the daughter of Kalanithi Maran, co-owner and head of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Executive Director of Sun TV Network. It describes Anirudh as the composer who rose to fame with Why This Kolaveri Di in 2012, and who made his Hindi debut with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan in 2022. It says he composed his first film album at 15, which made him the youngest music director in India. It says he has won two Filmfare Awards South and ten SIIMA Awards. The Hindu says he is currently basking in the success of Jailer 2.
Why it matters
Anirudh scored Jailer 2, which opened on Oct. 15. The wedding news arrived in the same week.
What we could not confirm
We could not find a statement from either Anirudh Ravichander or Kavya Maran. The Greece date and venue come from reports and unnamed sources, and the reception date comes from an official release by the Telangana chief minister's office.
